A "Politically Correct" Society
There has been a concerted effort of mass proportions by persons of power and influence, especially among the liberal media to brainwash the American people into accepting "political correctness." Much of what is involved is simply that — politics. However, some things with which political correctness is concerned is of a moral nature. Concerning these, not only does a gospel preacher have the right to speak out, he has a responsibility to do so! Failure to do so would be a dereliction of duty! On these issues, is it "dabbling in politics" to tell it like it is? Not on your life!
The #1 issue is abortion. Political correctness says a pregnancy can be terminated at the mother’s choice, whenever she wants. President Clinton and the political party he represents have promoted the "right of abortion" in complete disregard to the "right of life" specifically enumerated in the US Constitution. Since 1973, about 4,000 babies a day have been slaughtered under the guise of a "woman’s right to choose." Please remember that President Clinton twice vetoed bills that passed both houses of Congress outlawing a late-term abortion procedure known as "partial birth abortion." In this procedure, a doctor (or more accurately, "butcher") delivers a viable baby until only the head remains in the birth canal. Then, when the child is only inches from being "fully-born," the doctor stabs an instrument through the baby’s head so that he can suck out the baby’s brains, thus killing the child while it is yet "unborn." If this were done one minute after the baby’s head cleared the birth canal, the courts would define it as murder and the doctor would go to jail! I will continue to cry out against this atrocity so long as God gives me the strength to do so! (Contd on back page)
The #2 issue is special rights for homosexuals. The state of Vermont recently passed a bill, which was subsequently signed by the governor, allowing homosexuals to enter into "same-sex civil unions." Thus, they have declared sodomites and lesbians as being equal to those joined in marriage as prescribed in the Holy Scriptures. At the present time, 38 states (and even the US Congress) have passed legislation recognizing marriage as a union between a man and a woman, and not a union between two sodomites or lesbians. (By the way, I shall never refer to these sexual deviants as "gays." These are some of the angriest people on the planet, and they have hijacked a perfectly good word and ruined it by applying it to their perversion.) On Saturday, April 30, 2000, an estimated "hundreds of thousands" participated in a rally in our nation's capital to stand before the Washington and Lincoln memorials to demand special rights for homosexuals. Lest you think this was an event of little importance, you should know that President Clinton made a video appearance at this gathering on a giant screen proclaiming his administration as being "the most inclusive administration in history," making reference to the fact that in his administration over 150 openly homosexual people have been appointed to important government positions. By his own admission, President Clinton has done more to promote and legitimize sexual perversion than any President in history! Probably more than all other Presidents combined! What a legacy!
Brethren, we need to pray for our government (1 Tim 2:1-4), but the time is long past due for us to voice our concerns in some public fashion. It is not difficult to write a letter to your president, senator, or congressman. If you do not tell them of your disappointment and disagreement in some fashion, who will? Nor is it difficult for an honest person to determine a political candidate's "platform" on these issues and then vote according to his biblically guided conscience. Friends, the Bible is crystal clear when it comes to these matters, and no child of God should support someone who openly promotes such atrocities and perversions. Compiled and adapted
