Hey Karen! (How's that for an original salutation?!)

Sorry we weren't able to visit over the Christmas holidays. Hope everyone had a happy holiday season.

I can't believe you asked me if I remembered History Day! WHO COULD FORGET HISTORY DAY?! To be honest, I hadn't thought about it in a long time; thanks for bringing back some great memories.

My favorite History Day memory is the flashing bulb on my head! My LEAST favorite memory was losing at state to that bunch of losers from Richland that we absolutely SMOKED in the district competition. Perhaps if you and Tammy hadn't stayed out all night bar-hopping we would've made it to D.C.! JUST KIDDING!!!!

Things here are exciting. Last Sunday marked my 10th anniversary as the preacher here. It's been a great run, and one I hope will continue for many years to come. Shelby (my oldest) got here driving permit last month and has made my hair even whiter. Jeffrey will be 13 in May and is absolutely the sweetest kid you'll ever meet. He leads singing at church and is already doing some preaching. He's just like me when I was his age . . . NOT! Rhonda loves her new job teaching 6th grade English, and she's a HUGE help to me in my work. She never complains about all the travel overseas or my out of state travels for extended preaching engagements. I think at times she's glad to get me out of the house!

Speaking of excitement, through my online work with House to House / Heart to Heart, Last week I was able to convert a man in India who in turn converted 5 more people in his family! We (the elders, deacons, and I) recently talked about adding a second trip to Africa to shore up and monitor our work there. (I've made 7 trips to Ghana since 1999 and we just completed construction on a school of preaching). Now my thoughts are turned toward adding a trip to India (I'd like to go as soon as next March). The trips to Ghana are 13 days start to finish; the India trip will have to be about 10 days. That will make the trip a hard one as it takes about two days to make the trip each way. I'll have to hit the ground running!

Let me know when you are going to be in Dexter again. If we are going to be in town, I'd love to visit with you and the family.

Take care and God bless. Stay in touch!!!
