Exalting Christ in My Heart: part 1 – My Walk

Christ is NOW exalted: Acts 2:29-33; 5:29-32, Philippians 2:5-11

exalt - “raise to the highest rank & power, raise to supreme majesty”

When I exalt Christ in my heart . . .

1.  It will greatly impact my life: Ephesians 4:1; Colossians 1:10

     a.  Some talk the talk without walking the walk:

          i.   Hosea 11:7

          ii. Ezekiel 33:30-33

          iii.      Matthew 15:7-9

          iv. Titus 1:15-16

     b.  Psalm 34:1-10

          i.   v 1 – Is your mouth full of God’s praise?

          ii. v 2 – Do you boast (glory) in the Lord? Galatians 6:14

          iii.      v 4 – Do you genuinely seek the Lord?

               (1)     Psalm 119:1-3 (5 times in Psalm 119 = “whole heart”)

               (2)     Jeremiah 3:10

          iv. v 8 – Have you tasted God’s graciousness?

               (1)     1 Peter 2:1-3

               (2)     Some have their minds made up about Christianity before they try it. They do not give it a real chance.

               (3)     God gives “credit” for trying - 1 Kings 8:17-18

     c.  My attitudes toward sin will change:

          i.   Psalm 119:104, 128

          ii. Proverbs 8:13

     d.  My attitude toward death will change: Philippians 1:20-23
