Four Questions About Salvation


  1. Will FEW be Saved? Luke 13:23
    1. 2 Peter 3:9 it is not God's will for ANY to PERISH
    2. 1 Timothy 2:4 - God wants ALL MEN to be SAVED
    3. Lk 13:24-27 MANY will seek to enter in, but will not be ABLE
    4. Romans 9:27 only a REMNANT of the multitude
    5. Matthew 7:13-14 few will find the NARROW way
    6. Who are the few?


  2. WHO then can be saved? Matthew 19:25
    1. Acts 2:21; Romans 10:13 those who CALL upon the Lord
    2. 1 Peter 4:18 those who are called RIGHTEOUS
      1. Righteous = APPROVED & ACCEPTED by God
      2. Scarcely = with much DIFFICULTY, not BARELY
      3. Note overall and immediate context:
        1. overall context of epistle = faithfulness in suffering
        2. some form of "suffer" appears 12 times in the epistle
    3. 2 Thessalonians 2:10 Those who LOVE the TRUTH
    4. Hebrews 5:8-9- Those who OBEY Jesus




  1. WHAT must I DO to be Saved? Acts 16:31
    1. HEAR and UNDERSTAND - Matthew 13:13-15; 15:10
    2. BELIEVE the GOSPEL - Mark 16:15-16; Romans 10:13-17
    3. REPENT of my sins - Acts 17:30
    4. CONFESS my FAITH in JESUS - Romans 10:9-10
    5. Be BAPTIZED for FORGIVENESS of sins - Acts 2:38; 22:16
    6. Remain FAITHFUL to God - Matthew 10:22; 24:13; Rev 2:10


  2. How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation? Hebrews 2:3
    1. 2 Peter 2:4 - God spared not the ANGELS that sinned (Jude 6)
    2. Jude 5 - Jews once saved but NOT always saved
    3. 2 Peter 2:20-22 let us not TURN FROM God's word
    4. Hebrews 10:35-39 let us not DRAW BACK unto perdition
