- Righteous = APPROVED & ACCEPTED by God
- Scarcely = with much DIFFICULTY, not BARELY

- overall context of epistle = faithfulness in suffering
- some form of "suffer" appears 12 times in the epistle

- Be BAPTIZED for FORGIVENESS of sins - Acts 2:38; 22:16
- Remain FAITHFUL to God - Matthew 10:22; 24:13; Rev 2:10
- How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation? Hebrews 2:3
- 2 Peter 2:4 - God spared not the ANGELS that sinned (Jude 6)
- Jude 5 - Jews once saved but NOT always saved
