2 Chronicles: The Temple as a Type of the Church

  1. The Temple was preceded by the TABERNACLE

    1. The tabernacle was TEMPORARY

    3. The tabernacle served as a TYPE for the Temple

    2. The Pattern was given by INSPIRATION of God

  4. The Temple furnishings were of the purest GOLD - 2 Chr 4:19-22

  5. All the PRIESTS of the Temple were SANCTIFIED - 2 Chr 5:11

  6. Solomon was to be COURAGEOUS in the building of the Temple - 1 Chronicles 28:20

  7. The Temple was plundered only ONE generation after its completion - 2 Chronicles 12:9

  8. The CHURCH was preceded by the JEWISH nation

    1. Judaism was TEMPORARY - Hebrews 8:7-10

    2. The church is PERMANENT - Matt 16:18; Heb 12:28

    3. Judaism was a TUTOR to bring us to Christ - Galatians 3:24

  9. JOHN the BAPTIST prepared the way for Christ & His church - Mark 1:1-4

  10. The church is built according to a PATTERN - Hebrews 8:5-6

    1. Acts 2:42 - the church is to continue in the apostles’ doctrine

    2. 1 Timothy 3:14-15; 2 Timothy 3:16-17

     

  11. All Christians must be TRIED as GOLD to be fit for use in the church & for entrance into heaven - Jam 1:12; 1 Pet 1:7; Rev 2:10

  12. All Christians are PRIESTS, being SANCTIFIED by the BLOOD of Jesus Christ - 1 Peter 2:5, 9; Hebrews 10:29

  13. We must be COURAGEOUS in building the church - Mt 28:18-20

  14. The church is only ONE untaught generation from APOSTASY - Acts 28:28-38; Revelation 2:1-7
