Does it matter HOW we worship God?

According to the Scripture, there are two broad categories of worship, that which is acceptable and pleasing in God’s sight, and that which is unacceptable.

  1. UNACCEPTABLE Worship

    1. VAIN = according to the doctrines of MEN - Matt 15:7-9

    2. IGNORANT

      1. John 4:20-22 — without KNOWLEDGE

      2. Acts 17:22-23 — without UNDERSTANDING

    3. According to human WILL - Colossians 2:20-23

    2. "they that worship" = ACTORS

    3. "must" = ABSOLUTE

    4. "spirit" = ATTITUDE

    5. "truth" = ACTION

    2. Giving as Prospered

      1. 1 Corinthians 16:1-2 on the first day of every week

      2. 2 Corinthians 8:24 shows the proof of our love

    3. Preaching

      1. Acts 20:7

      2. 1 Timothy 4:13, 16

      3. 2 Timothy 4:1-5

      4. 1 Corinthians 1:23-24 the preaching of Christ crucified

    4. Praying

      1. Acts 2:42

      2. Philippians 4:6-7

      3. 1 Thessalonians 5:17 "Pray without ceasing."
