  1. The CALL to worship -- Psalm 95:1a
    1. Formerly done through the tolling of the bells. We do it now by singing a song before announcements.
    2. We need to extend warm, genuine invitations to worship.
      1. Not - "When you gonna come visit us at Burleson?"
      2. Rather - "We would be honored to have you worship with us. Could you come this Sunday?" (Explain benefits, classes - esp for children, etc. Don't exalt the preacher!)
    3. David was the king, yet someone called for him to go up to worship -- Psalm 122:1

  2. The ENGAGEMENT of Self in Worship -- Psalm 95:1b-2
    1. Worship must be done in spirit and in truth -- John 4:24
      1. Too often our focus centers on the truth and not on our spirit.
      2. We are often more focused on what we do not do in worship rather than what we do in worship.
      3. Can worship be in truth which is not in spirit?
    2. True worship focuses my attention & affections on GOD - Jn 4:23
      1. Worship is not about what I get out of it, but what I put into it.
      2. If I pour out myself before God in worship, He will refill.
