Spiritual-Minded Worship Psalm 95:1-7
- The CALL to worship -- Psalm 95:1a
- Formerly done through the tolling of the bells. We do it now by
singing a song before announcements.
- We need to extend warm, genuine invitations to worship.
- Not - "When you gonna come visit us at Burleson?"
- Rather - "We would be honored to have you worship with us.
Could you come this Sunday?" (Explain benefits, classes - esp
for children, etc. Don't exalt the preacher!)
- David was the king, yet someone called for him to go up to
worship -- Psalm 122:1
- SONG # 129 - "Lord, We Come Before Thee Now"
- The ENGAGEMENT of Self in Worship -- Psalm 95:1b-2
- Worship must be done in spirit and in truth -- John 4:24
- Too often our focus centers on the truth and not on our spirit.
- We are often more focused on what we do not do in worship
rather than what we do in worship.
- Can worship be in truth which is not in spirit?
- True worship focuses my attention & affections on GOD - Jn 4:23
- Worship is not about what I get out of it, but what I put into it.
- If I pour out myself before God in worship, He will refill.
